End of a 3-Year Hiatus

Has it really been three years since I added to Peace of Mind-Less?
Three years. A lot happens in three years...

How do I bring you up to speed without getting off course here?
My daughters completed high school last year-- graduating with their Associates Degrees about two weeks prior to their high school graduation. This was  huge accomplishment--huge enough that they made the front page of the local paper. They moved out soon after graduation, desperate to grow up quickly and escape their childhood. And so, our home became an empty nest and well, that's a whole other story--best saved for another day.
Melanie got engaged in 2013 and earlier this year called off the relationship after determining that she needed to be a college kid and enjoy the college-kid-life without being tied down. It doesn't help that her relationship with her boyfriend's family had been steadily going down hill since last winter. Again, this is a whole other story and is best saved for another day, too.
On a positive note, my shop, The Second Knob, and photography business, Shots by Shana, have both grown. In 2013, we expanded the shop to a new (much larger) location in Dryden. My studio space was still relatively small and we are just getting ready to address that with a renovation of our space and the shuffling of my studio into a larger area.
While a lot can change in three years, I fall back on what remains.
My health, the health of my parents, husband, children and close family. I still have the same three dogs. I still have the same house. Of course, my daughters' bedrooms are now office/storage/guest bedroom space. In all truthfulness, their rooms are still their rooms. I haven't even painted over Mandy's SU orange or Mel's lavender walls. But their stuff is gone and they don't come home every night... So, they are essentially gone, too. They live only a couple of miles away and, for the most part, I talk with them daily. (Aside from the two months of silence Melanie bestowed upon me following a disagreement). I have a couple of new baby cousins (second cousins?) and a new cat...
Three years. Seems like I should have a lot more to tell you.
Things did change of course. Perhaps, so much has changed that it is just impossible to recall or summarize. Even the things that "remained" changed. Yes, I still have the same dogs but they are three years older. Mac, at 16 years old, is far less agile than he was in 2011. He can no longer hear every little noise and I am fairly certain he cannot see more than a couple feet in front of him. I have had new phones, new cameras; I've tried a lot of new technology via programs and apps. Television shows have come and gone. I've made new friends and lost [contact with] old ones. I've felt happy and sad. More the latter since the girls left home but even this seems to be on the upswing. I've followed countless bloggers, started using Instagram and Twitter and had new websites built for the shop and my studio.
Later, I will remember bigger, more important things that changed or remained and I will scold myself for not mentioning them.
However, maybe the things that I've forgotten are best saved for another day, anyway.
