Gra-ti-tude: The quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.
GratitudeLog is a website where people come together to celebrate happy moments, send simple gifts of appreciation and brighten up each other’s day. It’s based on the simple practice of expressing gratitude daily for wonderful moments in your life.
Science has proven that people who express their gratitude daily are 25% happier and significantly healthier than those who don’t--and doing it takes as little as a minute a day!
And, yes, I just signed-up as a member. What better way to remind myself and others that I am grateful for the contribution(s) my friends and family make to my life? Here is the thing- I take a couple of minutes to update my FB status most days; so, why would I not take a few minutes to express my gratitude??
Today, was my first post, and though I can think of many, many things that I am truly grateful for, it was somewhat difficult to express it in such a way that it didn't sound corny or mushy. Afterall, I don't want my friends and family to read my GratitudeLog and think, "Oh my God, she must be dying..."
So, today's post was slightly generic. However, I am already thinking of what I can write in tomorrow's post and, interestingly enough, rather than dwelling on how crappy Mondays typically make me feel, I am dwelling on some of the people and things that make me happiest. I feel as if I am a live advertisement for corny right now, but it's true. I am feeling somewhat appreciative and happy. So what if it's Monday? So what if I have an entire week of work ahead of me? At least I have a job. I have friends, family, good health and, now, this unusual aura of happiness...
Dare I say that I am feeling "good" on this dreary Monday morning? My answer surprises even me; yes.
I am wondering which of my friends and family members will join? Will anyone follow me as I head out on this journey of appreciation? Let's make it interesting...Visit GratitudeLog and sign-up, I dare you! Add me to the people you are "following" by selecting the "Friends" tab at the top of the page (once you've joined) and enter my name: Shana Karn or my e-mail address: shanakarn@gmail.com. Maybe YOU will be the subject of my post for tomorrow?
Maybe showing gratitude isn't your "thing?" Well, it still won't hurt for you to check in with me once and awhile. To do so, bookmark: http://www.GratitudeLog.com/ShanaKarn.
So what are you grateful for today?
